Description

One of the great producers working in Chinon in the Loire, Domaine Olga Raffault is named from its long-time owner, Olga. But the winemakers here are Olga's granddaughter Sylvie and her husband Eric de la Vigerie. Domaine Olga Raffault does things by tradition, working with hand picked fruit and fermenting in stainless steel before aging in wooden barrels. The "Les Picasses" vineyard is one of their prime growing sites, and for good reason. The fruit is particularly expressive with cassis, dark cherries and a refreshing minerality. The 2008 has incredible depth with ripe blackberry liqueur and hints of pepper, cocoa and anise.
